Hi everyone... well, you've probably heard by now about the "2-horsepower equine association" and are wondering what it is. Let's see if I can explain it...
Tom (my husband) loves hotrods. He loves tinkering and following through to see a beautiful work of art... a piece of machinery that can purr like a kitten or growl like a bear. (wait, do bears growl?) This is a hobby that he desperately wants to share with me, but my true love is horses.
I have two horses right now, Mabel and Willow. My dream is to have a place where I can board horses at an affordable rate for people who share my love for horses but also share my lack of abundant money! But mostly, I know that horses can really help kids. I see how kids light up, and how they "calm down" around horses. There seems to be magic in horses that little girls are anxious to tap in to. (And big girls too!) Studies all over the place show that horses are a therapeutic hobby... and I can attest to that! When I get stressed out - a horse hug will usually perk me right up!
But horses are expensive! And having a hotrod hobby AND a horse hobby, well, this is where "the association" comes in.
I've spent a good chunk of time with Tom and his cars. He's perfecting his talent with the camera, and I've been his "model" to practice with. That lead him to want to enter the Popular Hotrodding photo contest... imagine our surprise when we actually WON the contest!!! He's very proud, and wanted to start this association in an effort to help me realize my dream of helping kids by using my horses. This is something I truly believe in, and am working for.
Once I learn more about this site, I'll add some pics of my horses... and of the car... I love horses, he loves HORSEPOWER... that's why we do so well together! (Well, that's not why, but it sounds good!)
